Dead by Daylight
Dead by Daylight Killer and Survivor Fundamentals
Dead by Daylight is an information game wrapped in chases. Killers who only chase, and survivors who only hide, both plateau. Fundamentals are about when to leave a chase and when to spend a resource.
Killer: pressure beats tunnel vision
After a first hit, ask whether the chase is still worth your time. Long chases on strong tiles can lose two generators. Kick a gen, break a pallet path, then re-engage with better map control.
Listen for vaults and injured breathing before you commit to a mindgame. DBD audio is part of your kit even when your power is flashy.
Survivor: information sharing
Call killer direction and chase state. “Hooked east, killer leaving” is more useful than silence. Dead hard and flashbights do not replace map talk.
Do not triple stack a gen when the killer is nearby unless you have a plan for the hit. Spread pressure so one down does not stall the whole map.
Ranked habits that reduce tilt
Limit rematches when you are angry. DBD tilt shows up as greedy unhooks and ego chases. Take one lobby off after two rough games.
Review one chase recording a week if you can. You will spot camera habits you never feel mid-match.
